Treatment and Management

There are a number of Spinal Stenosis treatment and management centers in Delhi that provide a wide range of non-operative treatments as well as surgery options for this medical condition. Some of the most common non-operative treatments include:
  1. Exercises
Exercises are a part of almost all the Stenosis treatment programs. Even though exercises are not a cure for the condition, these are extremely important for helping the patients to remain active and not be totally consumed by the problem. The key is to start slowly so as to build tolerance and strength over a period of time. Some of the physiotherapists may also assign specialized exercise programs to their patients.
  2. Epidural injections
Even though the efficiency of Epidural Injections is often questions, these injections can provide temporary relieve from the condition.
  3. Anti-inflammatory Medication
Medicines such as ibuprofen and aspirin may help a patient in relieving the symptoms of Spinal Stenosis. In severe episodes of pain, a course of narcotic medication can be helpful. In some cases, anti-depressant medication can also help certain patients.
  4. Activity Modification
Most of the times patients take counseling on the activities that can help in improving or that can worsen the condition. These activities are usually modified as per the condition of the patient. For instance, a patient may be advised to go for a walk daily, another patient may be advised to go for bent-over walking. This is what activity modification is all about.

In a number of cases, the problem of Spinal Stenosis can be taken care of through non-operative options. But in case of advanced claudication, a surgery is required to treat the problem.
