Chakras – What Are They and How Are They Important?

Chakras are basically energy centres in the human body along the spine, each associated with and governing various organs of the body in that region. They are seven in total, each with its own name and colour as well as vibration. Our thoughts and emotions can impact the chakras, and can open or block them, which can have an impact on how we think or feel. There are chakra cleansing healing centres where you can learn to use the power of chakras, towardsa life more perfect than you can imagine. There is a chakra cleansing centre in Noida you can visit, and begin your journey to cleansing your life inside out. Here are the seven chakras in our body as well as their functions and importance:
  1. Root chakra or ‘Muladhara’: This chakra is red in colour, located at the base of the spine. It is where you get your sense of belonging in this world. It is your foundation or Muladhara. When this chakra is open you feel stable, safe, secure and fearless. But financial stress, worry about food or eating habits, and discord within the family can block this chakra.

  2. Sacral Chakra or ‘Svadhisthana’: Located below your navel, this chakra is orange in colour and is associated with your creativity and sexuality. An open sacral chakra peaks your creative expression and helps you integrate new experiences easily. Believing that you live in scarcity blocks this chakra.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra or ‘Manipura’: This yellow chakra is the source of your personal power, and is the centre of your confidence and sense of control in life. It is found under the rib cage and when open, brings strong self of worthiness and self-esteem. That inner voice which keeps criticizing you blocks this chakra.
  4. Heart Chakra or ‘Anahata’: This chakra, green in colour, is your source of connection and love. It also links the lower three chakras with the upper three chakras. An open heart chakra brings great joy and peace in life, but when you are grieving, depressed or feeling alone, this chakra gets blocked.
  5. Throat Chakra or ‘Vishuddha’: This chakra is blue, and is connected to the ability to communicate and to listen. Located in the throat, an open throat chakra allows you to speak the highest truths and makes honesty your nature. If you don’t speak up for yourself, or be honest about yourself with others, this chakra will be blocked.
  6. Third Eye Chakra or ‘Ajna’: This chakra is indigo in colour, located between your eyebrows, and is the centre of your intuitive self. It allows you to see the big picture, where you stand in this world, this universe and helps you focus. When this chakra is open, you’ll receive amazing intuitive sensations and feel energy flowing in your life. You’ll also notice that grace, wisdom and imagination come easily to you. Not trusting yourself, feeling stuck or being unable to make life decisions block this chakra.

  7. Crown Chakra or ‘Sahastra’: This chakra is violet in colour, almost white. It is your connection to your spirit, and to God. It is the chakra of enlightenment and rests atop your head, in mid-air. When open, your connection with your spirit and your higher self is strong, and the Divine Being guides your life effortlessly. Feelings of isolation and not being able to find good in situations blocks this chakra.
